Time-out chair

Was inspired ...so this painting was no struggle for me at all...I know this because I was smiling the whole time and careful with every stroke to not over work it...I see all that I have learned about the subject and choosing colors in this one...makes me happy looking at it as it dries.

The Westie

Such a little sweet face ... Challenging myself again here with this simple palette of white and black and grays
... I learned much doing this breed

Three Lab a doodles

Tried these three on such a small size.... It was a challenge for me to see if I could pull it off... As I worked I kept saying to myself to have fun with it ...just have fun with it ..and I really did!

Cat in Bowl

If you own a cat this scene will not surprise you!
It's really true cats can nap anywhere at any time... Just a delightful photo I wanted to paint it.

A Siamese please

Always wanted to own a Siamese ... Next best thing was to paint this one... Made me so happy I may do more at some point!

Sweet Italian Spinone face

I would love to do another... For to me this facial expression just begs a Human for a hug!
It's not a lap dog however... But I have a feeling this breed does get in some sitting on you time!

Reworked the top painting to this as finished
Finished art that I am now happy with.

White whiskers

A very limited color palette used here in the beginning process ... Did the shadows first...
I really liked how it turned out... Had to watch carefully I did not over work painting strokes.
Some times I am guilty of enjoying myself so much I forget when to stop.

A Wheaten's face

Loved doing this expression... Had to try and capture it in oils and get the softness I was attracted to... This dog's look is so well groomed.

Update:  5 more things I have learned since January ...
1. It's April and I am still excited about oil painting daily!
2.  Not a good idea for me to get too low on supplies before reordering.
3. Learned to budget my income to allow for the very best materials I can buy.
4. I don't push myself ... Expect too much ... Not too hard on myself ... Enjoying the process
5.  Daily painting keeps me learning and moving forward toward getting the results I will be happy with... Some days it's a lot more than just 5 new things...

Things I have corrected as a daily painter:

1.use oil mediums  sparingly.. Not too juicy!
2. Started posting work for auction.
3. Keeping up with my daily blog...Facebook and Pinterest
4.

Sweet golden cat face

This sweet face cat was a challenge for me ... Then half way into the painting process I wish I had selected a larger canvas...so as it turns out ...once again learning not to compromise at the start of each project. ... When will it sink in? ....Who knows ..... Lol

Happy Norfolk pup

Any owner of this breed of dog knows what I tried to capture with this expression...
" you love me like I love you?" look. Lol

A Nap on a Fence

Work today on this napping cat ..... My first time on a 12x12 panel size ...which overwhelmed me at first.... So much room than a 6x6 size I been using since January...
yikes... So I started with just my focus on the cat the whole time ...and the rest came simple and easy.... maybe because I did not over think it!

A cat's pout in a box

I was going to title this painting "Cat in a box" but loved the expression on this sad or bored cat so much that it really was my focus... and why I chose to paint it in the first place.

Out of Hiding

A very rainy day here where I live... Cats all tucked away until the sun comes out again is what was going through my mind as I painted this one.
